The University of Pavia, in Latin Alma Ticinensis Universitas, is the second most ancient University of Italy after Bologna.
The University boast 8 faculty, 4 of which humanistic (Literature, Political Science, Law, Economics) placed in the inner city between the “Sede Centrale” and the palace of San Tommaso, San Felice and Botta, whereas the 3 scientific (Engineering, Medicine and Natural Sciences) ones are placed in the modern campus of “cravino”, in the north periphery of the city. Finally, the department of Musicology is located separately in the city of Cremona.
